The last Muslim Senator was Santanina Rasul, and her contributions to the country´┐Ż??s laws are still felt to this day, including the Magna Carta for Women. reminded our speaker in a Singapore event by the Organization of Islamic Conference partners.

I feel a sense of pride in seeing many Muslim professionals of this generation and pray for more indigenous peoples joining the teaching and other workforce.

Labor issues are close to my heart especially as my parents served 30 years abroad with OFWs.

I recall the rallies we had in Manila to highlight the plight of Sarah Balabagan, the raped domestic helper from Maguindanao.
